Earned Value Management with Microsoft Project

This course provides attendees with a comprehensive look at the concepts and theories of project control using Earned Value Management techniques. Topics include an overview of EVM terminology and definitions, practical usage and calculations for project managers and analysts, a basic overview of finance system integration, and an examination of how practitioners can best use Microsoft Project 2007 in an Earned Value environment. The course explains the key concept of variances and calculating techniques for using Earned Value for project/job monitoring and control by project managers, company executives, and government program managers with EVM reporting requirements. This course clearly defines the contemporary philosophies, developments, and pitfalls in implementing disciplined EVM techniques.
The Dekker, Ltd. Seminar Series brings half-day instructional sessions dealing with important topics in the field of program and project management to locations around the country.
